Lexicon is about the formal ordering of my internal myth, and the emotionally salient associations between these core objects. The sword represents divine masculintiy; physical power, temperance, and engagement with the external. The ram’s horn represents divine femininity; emotional power, creativity, and engagement with the internal. The stone is communion with the divine; blood made crystalline. Between this communion and the divine masculine arises the hand of nature; will, intent, transformaiton. Between this communion and the feminine arises the goddess; direction, magick, mystery.

Behind, a portal, a doorway, rises from the Kansas landscape; beyond is a shadowy realm; an invitation to adventure. Or perhaps, the instantiation of a dark past. The circle unbound by the depth f the piece is meant to represent the actual divine; it is raw canvas surrounded by halo forms. It is a reminder that, in the same way reality is more actualized than art, the theoretical divine is more actualized than reality.
